DI4R 2017: Connecting the building blocks for Open Science

This week Europe’s e-infrastructures are in Brussels for the DI4R 2017 event, welcoming almost 400 attendees for two days of brainstorming and discussions.

Jointly organised by EGI, EUDAT, GÉANT, OpenAIRE, PRACE and RDA Europe, the event (30 Nov – 1 Dec) is the second in the DI4R series following last year’s successful event in Krakow.

DI4R 2017 will showcase the policies, processes, best practices, data and services that, leveraging today’s initiatives – national, regional, European and international – are the building blocks of the European Open Science Cloud and European Data Infrastructure. The overarching goal is to demonstrate how open science, higher education and innovators can benefit from these building blocks, and ultimately to advance integration and cooperation between initiatives.

GÉANT’s Cathrin Stӧver comments, “We see significant interest from the research community in how e-infrastructures can jointly support their needs and work with them to improve open science and collaboration for all. DI4R is an important event and GÉANT is proud to be one of the major organisers.”

With a packed programme of more than 25 sessions, 5 interactive demos and 40 posters DI4R 2017 promises to be a fascinating couple of days! We hope to see you there.
